Meditation for Teenagers

Class theme: Navigating Painful & Overwhelming Emotions
Saturday 23rd Sep & 7th Oct · 4 – 5pm
Life as a teenager isn’t easy. There’s a lot to navigate on a daily basis – friends, teachers, parents, expectations, social media, bullying, the mental health challenges of yourself and those close to you, the state of the world… the list goes on. Feeling stressed and overwhelmed comes easily, and feeling genuinely relaxed and confident feels difficult to achieve.

In these classes, learn and practise simple meditations that will help you let go of stress, grow inner peace and feel more confident and happy.

Through meditation, we grow to understand that we have the power to choose how we feel and respond in any given situation, enabling us to tackle life’s challenges with a happy mind.

Classes consist of guided meditation, practical instructions and informal discussion.

Suggested age range: 11-16 years. 16+ may prefer to join in with our adult drop-in classes.

A NOTE FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: During the teens class, parents and guardians are very welcome to stay at the Centre for a cuppa in the lounge with our Resident Teacher Kelsang Tara and ask any questions they have about meditation and Buddhism.
