So much more than breathing

Meditation is so much more than focusing on your breath and achieving a temporary sense of calm.

Through applying contemplative meditation techniques we learn to identify precisely the ways of thinking that fuel stress, anxiety, conflict and feelings of overwhelm and how to effectively and sustainably reduce and eventually free ourselves from them.

The natural result is a sense of mental well-being, a more positive outlook and a growing ability to keep a genuinely peaceful, happy mind all the time, even in the most challenging circumstances.

“When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and the mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within. This feeling of contentment helps us cope with busyness and difficulties of daily life.”

Benefits in the workplace and in life

Regularly practising contemplative meditation has many benefits, including:

Greater happiness and sense of well-being

An ability to manage stress, anxiety, anger and other painful emotions

More harmonious and effective communication with others

A sense of perspective and purpose in a busy, chaotic world

“If our mind is peaceful we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.”

Tailor-made Sessions

Each session includes practical explanation, guided meditation and the opportunity to ask questions. The topics that will bring the greatest possible benefit to your team can be discussed in advance and will provide a framework for the content of the sessions.

You can book a one-off session or a series of sessions to be held at your workplace or at our Centre in East Fremantle.

The meditation instructions given at KMC Perth are from the Buddhist tradition but those attending the sessions can be of any faith or none – everyone is welcome.

“We will experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind and many of our usual problems will fall away. Difficult situations will become easier to deal with, we will naturally feel warm and well disposed towards other people, and our relationships with others will gradually improve.”
