Suggested age range: 11-16 years. 16+ may prefer to join in with our adult drop-in classes.

What to expect in each class:

– Practice a breathing meditation

– Learn practical tips for mental well-being based on Buddhist teachings

– Engage in a contemplative meditation to guide your mind to more helpful thoughts

– Learn about Buddhist mind protection, or mantra

– Just listen, or ask questions if you wish

– Sit in a chair or on the floor in a quiet space devoted to the development of inner peace

A NOTE FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS:

During the teens class, parents and guardians are very welcome to stay at the Centre to relax with a cuppa in the lounge. You can ask any questions you have either to the teachers of the teens class once it’s finished, or our other volunteers during the class.

The Teachers

One of the teachers of this class is Paul Johnston

Paul is an experienced and dedicated Kadampa practitioner and teacher. His sincere practice and experience of applying Buddha’s teachings in daily life are an inspiration to all who know him. Paul’s teachings are very clear and logical, using examples and analogies that make his teachings easy for students to put into practice.

 

One of the teachers of this class is Lynn Juckes

Lynn is a sincere and enthusiastic practitioner and teacher, who is well-known for her love of Kadampa Buddhist teachings. She speaks from the heart and gives thoughtful, helpful and down-to-earth teachings that are based on her own life experiences.
