Refuge Vow Ceremony

Refuge Vow Ceremony
Sat 28 Oct · 11.30am – 1.30pm · Free
Refuge vows are the vows you take to become a Buddhist.

The principal commitments of the refuge vow are to apply effort to 1) receiving Buddha’s blessings, 2) putting Dharma into practice and 3) receiving help from Sangha (our spiritual friends, including our teacher). These are known as the Three Jewels.

If you are interested in taking refuge vows and becoming Buddhist, please let Kelsang Tara know after attending one of our classes or email education@meditateinperth.org to receive more information prior to registering. You may also wish to renew these vows if you’ve taken them before.

The Refuge Vow ceremony will be preceded by a talk on Awakening the Buddha Within which you may also like to book in for. More info about the talk can be found here.

The Teacher

Kelsang Tara is a fully ordained Australian Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Perth.

Tara has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for many years, and ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2015. Tara’s inspiring teachings reflect her sincere wish to help those in need and to share her experience of Buddha’s life-changing instructions with others.
